What is "SPAMMING"?

ServerFly does not endorse "SPAMMING"! Spamming means:

a) sending unsolicited email to persons with whom you have no relationship and/or who have not requested your information or

b) posting off-topic announcements on message boards or elsewhere.

Spamming has become a major problem for the Internet. It threatens the existence of many legitimate and worthwhile ventures on the Internet and abuse the time and resources of those on the receiving end. Spamming will result in the termination of your hosting and affiliate account and forfeiture of any and all commissions. DO NOT SPAM!

How do I refer someone?

You will need an "affiliate code". An affiliate code is a unique hyperlink that directs anyone who clicks on it to ServerFly. Every affiliate has their own unique affiliate code. Therefore, our system is able to efficiently track which referral belongs to which affiliate.

How do I promote my affiliate code?

There are many ways to promote your affiliate code. You can either place our professionally-designed banners on your website, banner exchanges etc. Or, send our promotional text ads to your friends by email. If you have an "opt-in" mailing list, that's even better! Alternatively, you can submit your affiliate code to search engines! By the way, you can do that for free via your hosting account's control panel.

What if someone clicks to ServerFly through my affiliate code, but doesn't order right away, then comes back later and orders? Do I still get any commission?

Yes. With the use of cookies, if someone visits us through you and then comes back to order anytime within 30 days, you will get the commission.

How do I get my own affiliate code?

To get the code, either refer to the welcome email you received when you first joined, or, login to your Affiliate Manager and go to the "Affiliate Code/URL" area.

Where can I check how well my banners and text ads are doing?

Login to your Affiliate Manager to check your affiliate statistics.

What is an "opt-in" mailing list?

An "opt-in" mailing list contains email address of people who have requested to receive email from you. You may not, under any circumstances, send email to anyone who has not specifically requested to be contacted by you. This is called "spamming" and is a very serious offense. Please do not do it.
